Your heart is very important.
Not just the heart that pumps your blood,
but the heart the Bible speaks about.
You see, Scripture speaks of the
heart as the center of the emotions, the intellect, and the will. God judged the world in Noah’s day because
“every imagination of the thoughts of his [man’s] heart was only evil
continually.” Genesis 6.5.
Jeremiah 17.9 tells us that “the heart
is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it?” Hebrews 4.12 gives us the answer “For the
Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and is a discerner of
the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
God knows your heart, and God knows my
heart. Because our hearts were
corrupted with sin through Adam, our relationship with God was ended. We became his enemies (Romans 8.6 – 7). Romans 5.8 “But God commendeth His love
toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 6.23 “For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Death is the legitimate result of sin, and
we deserve no more.
For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life” Jesus
declared to Nicodemus in chapter 3 of the Gospel of John, that “as the serpent
was lifted up in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted
up.” John 3.14….He knew why He had come,
and He knew what His Work was, to give His life a ransom for many, once for
all. Acts 8.36,37 tell us “And as they
went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See
here is water: what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou
believest with all thine heart, thou mayest; and he answered and said, I
believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
Paul writes in the letter to the church
at Rome, [Romans 10: 9,10] That if thou wilt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness,
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
How about your heart?
Is it right with God? Have you believed on,
put your faith
and
trust in Christ
for His free gift of salvation?
John 1.12 – 14. “But as many as
received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them
that believe on his name, which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the
flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and
dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of
the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
GOD WANTS YOU TO KNOW
1.YOU NEED TO
BE SAVED.
Except a man be born again, he cannot see
the kingdom of God. John 3.3
2. YOU CANNOT
SAVE YOURSELF.
There is a way which seemeth right unto a
man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14.12
3. JESUS HAS
ALREADY PROVIDED THE WAY.
Who His own self bare our sins in his
own body on the tree” 1 Peter 2.24
4. BY FAITH
ACCEPT HIM TODAY.
“And they said,
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be save, and thy house.” Acts 16.31
5. ASK FOR FORGIVENESS AND INVITE HIM INTO YOUR
LIFE TODAY. ACCEPT CHRIST AS YOUR
SAVIOR TODAY.
“For with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made
unto salvation.” Romans 10.10
“Behold, now is
the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Cor. 6.2
