WALKING BY FAITH - I KEEP CLIMBING

LIFE IS TO BE LIVED

Life is to be lived, one
          step, one corner
          at a time until
We arrive at the crest.
        Wistfully looking at
         the horizon below
And before, one step
         begins the descent
                around
                          and
                  down,
All the while remembering
        the splash of colors,
        the shadows and shapes
the hint of glory to come.

Life is to be lived, until
       we reach our Destiny,
       Home with the Father
       at last.   Then LIFE  really
        begins.
June Estelle Cash   May 30, 1991

Some years back, when my husband candidated for a number of churches out in the Northwest, we went to Surprise Valley, coming down from Oregon into California by way of Fandango Pass.   It was a road that was built for the wagons - it zigzagged down in order to give a horse driven wagon a way to go down.
It was there that a massacre occurred many years ago.   But it was a most interesting unforgettable drive down this road for me.
This poem which I wrote later expresses how I feel about Life in what seems to be a precarious experience at times.

Goose lake is a lake which is boundaried by both

California and Oregon.

In order to come from Klamath Falls, OR

we came down on

Fandango Pass.

Here is another shot from Cedarville CA

of the Mountains down which we came.

Here we can see Goose Lake from the trail.

In this map, you can see how we
came down.   The view is wonderful, but
expect to be s l o w  in driving down
this pass.   It is not a highway.

Goose lake is in both states.
If you ever go there, it is well worth the trip.

We went to Fort Bidwell.  You can see from this map just how close it is here.   Very interesting to find OLD WEST
life still pretty much life here.

Fort Bidwell   Not big, but nice.

Most of the way the road looks like this,
but this is more level than on higher.

The rocks speak of God's glory - with shapes here that make me think of huge turtles that were petrified in the aftermath of the  flood.

Here is the Surprise Valley - Cedarville Community Church.
It seemed it was "way out in the middle of nowhere"

Everyone was happy to see us, and Henry preached,
and I taught the children in S. S.  while he taught the adults.

We went there just that one time.

This link will take you to the Restaurant where we
ate going there and going back to Lakeview Or.
It was so fascinating to watch an empty road become full of trucks
and one by one and sometimes 50 people came in at once
while eating, I observed that everyone was taken care of.
A very good restaurant this was, and I found it on line,
so I am sharing with anyone who is
interested.

What a wondrous message in God's Word!
My sins are blotted out, I know !
If I trust in His redeeming blood,
My sins are blotted out, I know!

My sins are blotted out, I know !
My sins are blotted out, I know !
They are buried in the depths of the deepest sea:
My sins are blotted out, I know!

Once my heart was black, but now what joy,
My sins are blotted out, I know !
I have peace that nothing can destroy,
My sins are blotted out, I know!

I shall stand some day before my King,
My sins are blotted out, I know !
With the ransomed host I then shall sing
My sins are blotted out, I know !

My sins are blotted out, I know !
My sins are blotted out, I know !
They are buried in the depths of the deepest sea:
My sins are blotted out, I know!
